All Data

Due to recent bot/hacker activity, a (totally free) account is now required in order to download data. Click “create account” above, or login with an existing account. Without an account, however, you can still browse what is available, but the download button will be missing.

To simplify things, we have recently placed the entire WALDO database in one page, rather than having separate pages for each type of data, and separate windows for each year. You can now scroll through the entire WALDO collection below.

Because of the large number of files, we have to divide up the raw data by year and by type (VLF, LF, or narrowband). Navigate directly to the folder for the site of interest, and download either individual files, or entire folders. To download, hover over the file then click the download button. Please contact us if you have any issues. Information on the file naming convention and format can be found on the format page

Note that to facilitate downloading, you can zip up any folder or set of files, just select the ones you want, or use the checkbox in the top right corner of the file navigation plugin to select everything. Then click on the gearbox icon which brings up a few options.

You can also search for files with the little magnifying glass / search icon. Search as you would for files on your computer. The filename helps you lock down what you want to search for. For example, if you want to find all files from January 4, 2010, you could type

100104

Note the file naming convention described in the format page, which will help you narrow down to what you may want to search for.

Because the WALDO database is divided up by type (VLF, LF, and narrowband) you will then have to go into the shared drive to see the list, as the search is done independently in each shared drive. In this case, you would go into the “Broadband_2010” drive to see a list of files within that subsection of WALDO.

If you have specific mass data requests or an interest in large-scale data access and analysis, contact us, we may be able to make specific arrangements.

In addition to the raw data folders, there is a folder called “Availability” which has charts of what data is available, plotted in a few different ways. Another folder called “Summary” has quick-look plots, and the “Sample Scripts” folder has some sample MATLAB scripts you are welcome to use to get started.
